Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant is perched at the very edge of the Jamison Valley at Echo Point in the Blue Mountains. Set amidst manicured gardens adjacent to Echo Point, this 4½ star boutique hotel overlooks the most spectacular scenery in the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains National Park and is a leisurely 90 minute drive from Sydney CBD.



Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant was designed to showcase the stunning and uninterrupted panoramas of the National Park from every guest room and restaurant terrace, providing all our guests with ever-changing but always dramatic and breathtaking views of the Jamison Valley and escarpment, stretching all the way to Mittagong, 80 kilometres away.


Dining is a special event at Echoes and guests are treated to a regional feast at Echoes Restaurant, one of the few fine dining restaurants in regional NSW with such breathtaking views.   This restaurant is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves contemporary Australian cuisine with an Asian influence using fresh locally sourced ingredients. 


Echoes Day Spa completes the immersion for this boutique hotel. The spa treatments are individually tailored to suit guest needs and the multi-sensory journey is designed to revive and rejuvenate.  All guests have access to recreational facilities at our sister property, Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa, located right next door, which include indoor and outdoor pool, gymnasium, sauna, spa, tennis court, library and billiard/games room.

Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant is part of the Escarpment Group collection of hotels in the Blue Mountains.  The Escarpment Group is a unique collection of luxury escapes in the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains. It incorporates 4 luxury brands that are iconic to the Blue Mountains – Lilianfels Resort and Spa, Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant, The Hydro Majestic Hotel and Parklands Country Gardens & Lodges . Each of these established icons is steeped in history and surrounded by dramatic landscapes and breathtaking views that are unique to the Blue Mountains region.   


The Escarpment Group is independently owned and operated and its investments in the Blue Mountains region began in 2004 with Echoes Boutique Hotel and Restaurant. In 2008, The Hydro Majestic was acquired with a view to refurbishing one of the most iconic resorts in Australia and so began an exhaustive chapter of peeling back the layers and adding back the luxe. In 2009, the Escarpment Group acquired Lilianfels Resort & Spa and continued to successfully operate it as the premier 5 star property within 90 mins Sydney CBD. More recently in 2013, the Escarpment group added to its collection Parklands Country Gardens and Lodges with a view of adding to the story of luxury sustainable regional tourism.


To further support its growing profile in the region and meet the operational demands the properties, the Escarpment group has embarked on a joint venture with TAFE Western Sydney Institute to set up the Hotel Management Institute (HMI) in September 2012. Its aim is to provide internationally recognised qualifications for hospitality students and facilitate bespoke training of all Escarpment staff through an accredited program unique to HMI. This will not only provide the Blue Mountains region with increased economic activity and a robust education industry but more importantly an increased pool of trained staff ready to deliver a high standard of hospitality services across its properties.


Following the re-opening of the Hydro Majestic in late 2014, The Escarpment Group is truly committed to the region and is focused delivering high end tourism on a scale rarely seen in regional NSW. The regional food and wine focus will certainly be the highlight with many more chapters unfolding on what is a very exciting period for Blue Mountains tourism.



Our History

Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant

Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant was designed by architect Peter Doreen and built in 1990 as a retreat for the famous Australian novelist, playwright and author Thomas Keneally AO, best known for his Booker Prize winning novel of 1982, Schindler’s Ark. 

The current building replaced a historic homestead that was commissioned by Florence Young in the late 1920’s.  Florence Young was a missionary who travelled extensively to the Far East and Papua New Guinea to preach Christianity and undertake missionary works. From the late 1940’s until the mid-1980’s the old homestead was a retreat for the Australian Christian Nurse movement. 

By the mid-1980’s the house was in a poor state of repair and became a fire hazard resulting in the house being demolished in the late 1980’s. The site was later auctioned and the concept for Echoes guesthouse was born. The end result from this concept was a 3 storey contemporary guest house that combines a sleek modern design with a touch of federation all whilst showcasing the panoramic views of the Blue Mountains. 

Built on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Jamison Valley, Echoes was one of the first luxury guesthouses in the mountain to offer award-winning cuisine. Gourmet dining with fresh ingredients has always been the focal point for the Blue Mountains and Echoes established its dining origins with the famous French chef Claude Corne, renowned for his Sydney restaurant “Claudes of Woollahra”, who cemented Echoes as a fine dining venue in the early to mid 1990’s. 

Over the years, Echoes has evolved from a luxury B&B to what is now a thriving boutique hotel with a busy award winning restaurant, bar & lounge. 

Renovated in 2006, Echoes is now a luxurious and stylish 4 ½ star boutique hotel with a much sought after location in the Blue Mountains.

Our friendly Front Desk Team are available 24 hours a day to answer your questions and keep you in the know about the latest activities and events in the Blue Mountains. With world class attractions, fine dining restaurants and picturesque bush land and gardens at your doorstep, you are guaranteed an unforgettable stay. Check in time is from 3pm and check-out time is 11am. Early check-in or late check-outs requests are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.


Complimentary parking is available onsite located opposite the front of the hotel building. Car parking is limited and is subject to availability at the time of arrival and may not be pre-booked in advance.


WiFi internet is available if you would like to use your own computer, smart phone or tablet which is available complimentary for basic internet services throughout the entire hotel. High speed WiFi internet access is available at an additional cost.


Balance out all the gourmet food, cheese platters and fine wine with complimentary access to the gym at Lilianfels Resort & Spa located right next door. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, keeping up your fitness regime is easy.

Hotel Policies

Our desire is for you to have the very best experience of the Blue Mountains, our accommodations, dining and other services. To assist us in delivering you that experience we have developed the following policies and guidelines which we respectfully request that you adhere to before, during and after your stay.

Arrival and Departure

  • Check-in time is from 3.00 pm
  • Check-out time is prior to 11.00 am 

Early check-in or late check-out is available and rates are available on request. Although our team members are available 24 hours a day, we would appreciate your advising us if you expect to arrive after 6.00 pm.



Child or Children aged between 2 years and 11 years; “Infant” means a person under the age of 2 years;

Children and Infants may not stay in any room without an Adult.

Persons aged over 12 years will be charged Extra Person rates for each person.

All room rates are based on two adults. Extra person charges will be charged on a Room Only basis, unless otherwise stated.

- Extra Person rates AUD $ 100.00 per night will be added in a separate line at payment summary when you finalise your booking. (Extra person rates included sofa bed)

Children and Infants sharing a room with their parents or guardians may do so free of change if using existing beds and linen and not exceeding the maximum occupancy for the given room type.

- Additional fee AUD $ 50.00 per night each will apply if sofa bed/ rollaway and linen (including baby crib -where & when available) are required for the children.


Accepted Payment Methods
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Diners Club and American Express as well as cash and travellers cheques. Please note that a $20 postage fee applies and a credit card surcharge of 1.5% for Mastercard, Visa, American Express and a surcharge of 2.25% for JCB, Union Pay and Diners


Reservations Guarantee
To guarantee your reservation you will be asked for your credit card details.


Should you need to cancel your reservation we ask that you advise us at least 7 days prior to your arrival date. Cancellations within this period will incur a fee equal to the total accommodation charge which will be applied to your credit card.


Should you fail to arrive on the scheduled day of your reservation, your room will be held until the following day in case you have been unforeseeably delayed and are unable to contact us. Should you not arrive the next day your reservation will be cancelled and the total accommodation charge which will be applied to your credit card.

After check-in, should you shorten your stay, full payment will be forfeited.


Rates and Minimum Length of Stay Requirements
Our rates vary by room type, availability, day of the week and season; weekends are always in high demand. During periods of high demand or major events and for certain packages we may apply a requirement for a Minimum length of stay. You will be advised of this at the time of your reservation.


Local Taxes
All guest expenses are subject to Goods & Services Tax of 10.0% which is included in any room or ancillary prices quoted.


Gratuities and Service Charges
Tips and gratuities to our team members are at our guest’s discretion and we do not apply any compulsory service charges.


We do not permit smoking within our guest rooms and smoking within enclosed public areas is against the law in NSW; there are ample outdoor areas throughout the property where smoking is permitted. A sanitisation fee of one additional night’s accommodation or package fee will be charged where smoking occurs within a guest room.


Small Pets and Animals
No pets and animals are allowed within our guest rooms


Communications and Privacy
If you contact us by email, fax, and standard mail or through this website you agree to allow us to contact you in the future and that this may include promotional material regarding upcoming events, special offers or general information. We will never use your name and information for any other purpose nor provide it to any other party without your prior permission or where legally obliged to do so. Any communication that we may send you will include the opportunity for you to unsubscribe.


Additional Guests
Unless otherwise specified all accommodation and packages rates quoted are based on double occupancy. Please contact our Reservations Team regarding rates for additional guests.


Group Bookings
If guests requiring ten or more rooms are travelling together we request notification in advance so that we can assist our guests to check-in in the best possible manner. We like to personally welcome all group members and to provide the utmost and friendly and personal service. We welcome the opportunity to assist your party with advice on local activities, events and entertainment, special experiences and even airport transfers.


Environmental Policy
We constantly challenge ourselves to provide the right environment for our guests and team members through the promotion of environmental awareness. We train our team members to incorporate good environmental practice in all aspects by periodically reviewing our practices, procedures and objectives.


Disputes and Claims
Any controversy, dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these hotel policies shall come under the jurisdiction of most competent courts of New South Wales.
